QA/QC Engineer – Interior Fit-Out

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
QA/QC Engineer to join one of our clients who are an established interior fit-out contractor in Dubai.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control procedures across a diverse portfolio of
hospitality, residential, and commercial interior fit-out projects.
Working closely with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and design teams, the QA/QC Engineer will ensure that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and relevant UAE regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interior fit-out, excellent technical knowledge, and a proactive approach to identifying, preventing, and resolving quality issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans and procedures.
- Review project specifications, approved drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection requirements to ensure compliance with project quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits across joinery, architectural finishes, ceilings, partitions, flooring, painting, wall finishes, doors, ironmongery, and associated MEP interfaces.
- Prepare, review, and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Inspection Requests (IRs), material inspections, and checklists.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, project managers, and site teams to arrange inspections and obtain approvals at the required stages of construction.
- Ensure all materials, samples, mock-ups, and workmanship meet approved specifications and quality requirements before installation or execution.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Identify, document, and follow up on non-conformances, defects, and quality issues, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, material approvals, test reports, snagging lists, and project handover documentation.
- Participate in internal quality audits, site quality reviews, mock-up inspections, and pre-handover inspections.
- Coordinate snagging and de-snagging activities to ensure timely closure of defects and delivery of a high-quality finished product.
- Support project teams in achieving quality objectives, reducing rework, minimising material wastage, and maintaining project programmes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable UAE regulations, relevant international standards, client requirements, and project-specific quality procedures.
- Assist in preparing final quality dossiers, as-built documentation, warranties, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover packages.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant QA/QC experience, preferably with an interior fit-out contractor in the UAE.
- Proven experience working on hospitality, residential, and/or commercial interior fit-out projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of interior finishes, joinery, architectural details, materials, and construction methodologies.
- Good understanding of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, method statements, inspection requests, NCRs, and corrective action processes.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Familiarity with UAE construction practices, local authority requirements, and applicable international quality standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, material submittals, and project documentation.
- Strong organisational, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project documentation systems.
- ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems knowledge or relevant certification would be an advantage.
