- Google Cloud Platform engineer
- 6 months rolling day rate contract
- 3 days a week in office
We are partnering with a leading e-commerce business who are seeking an experienced Senior Google Cloud Platform Engineer to join their team starting on a 6-month day rate contract that will continue to extend. This is a hybrid role with office days 3 days a week.
You'll play a key role in building, automating, and optimising cloud platforms and delivery pipelines, working as a senior contributor within a high-performing engineering squad.
Key Responsibilities - Design, build and support scalable and secure GCP environments
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines with a security-first mindset
- Lead/mentor delivery within a modern Agile engineering squad
- Drive automation across deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud, platform, and networking issues
- Contribute to cloud governance, security and platform standards
Required Skills & Experience - Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Kubernetes experience, ideally with GKE
- CI/CD expertise — comfortable with multiple tooling ecosystems, building secure and resilient pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab)
- Infrastructure-as-Code automation, including Terraform (Terraform Enterprise a plus)
- Security-first mindset aligned with secure-by-design / SecOps principles
- Networking knowledge (VPCs, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing)
- Scripting experience (Python, Bash or Go)
