Procurement Heads are working with a fast growing food business who are looking for a commercially focused Head of Logistics to lead logistics procurement, transport and warehousing partnerships, and network optimisation across the UK and Europe.

This role is primarily focused on negotiating and managing logistics suppliers, driving cost savings, improving service levels, and ensuring the logistics network can support continued business growth. You will also lead a small team responsible for warehousing and inventory management.

Location - Central London (On site 3 days per week)
Salary - Up to £80,000 + Bonus + Fantastic Benefits 

Key Responsibilities Logistics Procurement & Supplier Management

• Own relationships with transport, warehousing, and logistics providers.
• Lead tenders, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Negotiate rates, service levels, and commercial agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance and hold partners accountable to KPIs and SLAs.
• Identify cost-saving and network optimisation opportunities.
• Manage the logistics budget and cost-to-serve performance.

Warehousing & Distribution

• Oversee third-party warehouse and transport providers.
• Ensure inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, and service performance.
• Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.
• Ensure cold-chain and temperature-controlled requirements are met where applicable.

Logistics Optimisation

• Improve logistics efficiency while reducing costs.
• Lead network redesign, process improvement, and transformation projects.
• Develop contingency plans and manage supply chain risks.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with customs, import/export, and logistics regulations.
• Maintain accurate performance reporting and audit-ready documentation.

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop the Warehouse Manager and Inventory Analyst.
• Set objectives, review performance, and support professional development.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years' experience in logistics and supply chain management.
• Strong experience procuring freight, warehousing, and logistics services.
• Proven commercial negotiation and contract management skills.
• Experience managing 3PL providers and logistics networks.
• Strong financial, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading teams and delivering continuous improvement.
• Food, FMCG, chilled, frozen, or multi-temperature supply chain experience is highly desirable.
