Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 DOE
Contract Length: 16 months

We are supporting a globally recognised organisation in the search for an experienced Global Logistics Specialist to join its international logistics team.

This is a varied and fast-paced role responsible for coordinating complex international shipments and ensuring the efficient movement of critical equipment and resources across the globe. Working within a specialist logistics function, you will manage multimodal freight operations, liaise with global partners and suppliers, and play a key role in maintaining high standards of compliance, service delivery and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage international import and export shipments by road, sea and air.
  • Ensure goods are transported safely, compliantly and delivered within required timescales.
  • Liaise with customers, freight forwarders, carriers, brokers and internal stakeholders throughout the shipping process.
  • Negotiate freight rates and arrange international transportation solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists and dangerous goods paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export legislation and international trade requirements.
  • Maintain accurate shipment and customs records.
  • Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with logistics service providers and freight partners worldwide.
  • Provide logistics advice and technical support to internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and update logistics procedures, planning guides and operational documentation.
  • Support logistics training activities and promote best practice across the organisation.
  • Contribute to departmental KPI achievement and identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota to support urgent operational requirements.
About You We are keen to speak with logistics professionals who combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

You will ideally have:
  • Significant experience within an operational global logistics, freight forwarding or supply chain environment.
  • Strong understanding of multimodal transportation, including road, sea and air freight.
  • Knowledge of international import and export processes, customs requirements and freight compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, commodity codes and international shipping practices.
  • Experience preparing export documentation and customs paperwork.
  • Dangerous Goods certification (such as IATA) or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using inventory or asset management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
  • Degree-level qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Relevant logistics and freight certifications would be advantageous.
  • Dangerous Goods qualification (IATA or equivalent) preferred.
Additional Information
  • International travel may be required, sometimes at short notice.
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable.
  • Participation in an out-of-hours support rota is required.
