Overview

Our client, The Royal Parks, is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager to support and enhance its central procurement function. Managing procurement activity across a diverse portfolio of directorates, you will drive strategic sourcing, stakeholder engagement, supplier performance and procurement best practice across one of the UK's most iconic charitable organisations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys working across multiple categories, partnering with senior stakeholders and delivering end-to-end procurement projects in a complex and purpose-driven environment

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end procurement and category management activity across a broad range of spend areas.
  • Develop and implement category strategies aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Manage high-value and above-threshold tenders in compliance with the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Conduct spend analysis, market research and supplier benchmarking to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted procurement business partner.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to deliver value, mitigate risk and improve performance.
  • Support supplier governance, due diligence and contract compliance activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, systems and controls.
  • Contribute to sustainability, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement function. 
Requirements
  • Proven experience in procurement, category management or procurement business partnering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement lifecycle management, sourcing strategies and contract management.
  • Experience managing regulated procurement activities and competitive tender processes.
  • Sound understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 and wider public procurement regulations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a commercial mindset.
  • Degree-qualified in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline.
  • MCIPS qualification or progress towards Chartered Procurement status would be advantageous.
Package
  • Salary: £55,000 - £63,530 per annum.
