Supply Chain Manager

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join a high-performing procurement and supply chain function supporting complex programmes, managed services, bids, projects and procurement activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse supplier base, ranging from innovative SMEs and academic institutions to major international organisations. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, managing critical supplier relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of contractual obligations across a demanding and fast-paced environment.
 
You will be a confident procurement professional with strong commercial awareness and experience operating within complex and highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implement procurement and supply chain strategies that support business objectives.
  • Building, managing and strengthening strategic, critical and preferred supplier relationships.
  • Leading supplier negotiations to secure commercially favourable terms and conditions.
  • Managing supplier performance, development activities and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring procurement and supply-related risks, issues and opportunities are identified and managed effectively.
  • Conducting supplier due diligence, risk assessments and audit activities.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams with supply chain expertise and guidance.
  • Overseeing supplier contract delivery, ensuring performance targets and service expectations are achieved.
  • Providing line management, coaching and development support to team members.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supplier management processes.
Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Significant experience in procurement, supply chain and supplier relationship management.
  • Proven success managing strategic supplier relationships and delivering supplier performance improvements.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience leading supplier contract negotiations.
  • Experience working with MOD contracts and defence-sector procurement environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence at senior leadership and board level.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Analytical and methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable experience driving procurement best practice and organisational change
