Purpose
This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end procurement function within a fast-paced HVAC wholesale environment. The Head of Procurement will lead strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, inventory planning, and leveraging digitisation and procurement technology to drive efficiency, transparency, and competitive advantage. The role is pivotal in aligning procurement operations with the company's growth strategy, driving efficiency, and ensuring product availability.
Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with business goals and market demands.
2. Establish and expand drop ship supplier models to enhance fulfilment efficiency and reduce stockholding costs.
3. Lead the adoption of digital tools and data-led decision-making across the procurement function.
4. Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing procurement team across multiple sites.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with key global HVAC manufacturers, OEMs, and logistics partners.
6. Negotiate pricing, terms, and long-term agreements that support reliability, innovation, and margin improvement.
7. Collaborate with operations and sales to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability.
8. Monitor and manage lead times, product lifecycles, and seasonal buying patterns.
9. Manage sourcing across key HVAC categories including AC units, fixings, tools, ventilation, refrigerants, and electrical.
10. Ensure contracts include SLAs, compliance standards, and risk mitigation clauses.
11. Champion procurement digitisation through e-procurement platforms, analytics dashboards, and automated workflows.
12. Drive data-led decision-making to improve agility, supplier performance tracking, and cost control.
13. Ensure compliance with F-Gas, CE, RoHS, and environmental regulations.
14. Promote ethical and sustainable sourcing practices across the supply chain.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to lead strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and category management in HVAC or technical wholesale.
• Strong analytical ability and experience using ERP systems (SAP, Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
• Experienced in implementing digital procurement tools and driving data-led decision-making.
• Skilled in establishing drop ship models and managing international supplier relationships.
• Strong commercial judgement with proficiency in ERP systems and aligning procurement with business KPIs.
• Effective team leader with a collaborative approach across sales, operations, finance, and technical departments.

 
Desired Skills

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
• Professional certifications: CIPS, ISM CPSM, or equivalent.
• Experience with digital procurement platforms and data visualisation tools.
• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Understanding of HVAC-specific software or BIM integration tools.
