Interim Procurement Manager

A well‑established, globally recognised manufacturing organisation is seeking a Procurement Manager to play a key role in delivering strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and cost optimisation across an international footprint.
This role sits within a high‑performing procurement function responsible for driving global leverage, embedding best practice, and supporting long‑term operational and commercial objectives.

The Role You will support the development and execution of global procurement strategy, working across multiple sites and supplier markets to deliver value, manage risk, and ensure continuity of supply.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering cost savings and procurement targets through effective global sourcing
  • Leading supplier negotiations across existing and new supply chains
  • Developing and implementing supplier strategies aligned to business needs
  • Driving supplier performance, including measurement, audits, and improvement plans
  • Supporting procurement governance, compliance, and risk mitigation processes
  • Maintaining supplier intelligence to support primary and alternative sourcing strategies
  • Contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis activities
Strategic & Stakeholder Engagement This is a highly collaborative role, working cross‑functionally across operations, finance, and wider business teams.
You will:
  • Build strong supplier relationships and manage performance across key accounts
  • Support short‑ and long‑term planning with strategic suppliers
  • Contribute to wider operational strategy and planning
  • Drive alignment across functions to support procurement objectives
  • Promote best practice and raise the profile of procurement across the organisation
Leadership & Capability You will work closely with procurement leadership to support the ongoing development of capability across the function.
This includes:
  • Supporting the development of procurement talent and capability
  • Establishing performance standards and supporting delivery against them
  • Sharing best practice and contributing to global consistency
  • Supporting training, process development, and knowledge transfer
About You You will be a commercially minded procurement professional with strong supplier and stakeholder management skills and a track record of delivering results in a complex environment.
Key experience includes:
  • Experience operating within a multi‑site or global environment
  • Background in manufacturing or a similarly operational sector
  • Strong experience in supplier relationship management and negotiations
  • Experience managing contracts and commercial agreements
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
  • Strong analytical capability and data‑driven approach
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels
A professional qualification in procurement (e.g. CIPS) or a relevant degree is desirable.

Rate: £400 - £500pd Inside IR35
Contract: 3 - 6 months
Location: Buckinghamshire (3 days a week on site)
