Procurement Heads is pleased to be supporting a high-profile public sector transformation programme as it looks to appoint a commercial professional into its Strategic Commercial function.
Background

This programme is a multi-year transformation initiative aligned to a wider Government Shared Services Strategy. It is a digitally enabled portfolio, bringing together multiple programmes under one umbrella and introducing a target solution centred around a single Software-as-a-Service platform.
The portfolio has ambitious objectives, including:

• Simplifying and standardising policies, processes, and data
• Reducing reliance on complex legacy systems to minimise risk and ongoing maintenance costs
• Transitioning to a consolidated, cloud-based suite of ERP, EPM, and HCM systems
• Establishing a more efficient and sustainable shared services operating model
• Leveraging automation and artificial intelligence to drive innovation
• Enhancing the end-to-end customer experience and maximising the value of technology investment

The Opportunity
This role sits within a dedicated Strategic Commercial team, established to develop and deliver commercial strategies and lead procurements for key technology and service requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a meaningful role in a large-scale transformation programme, with responsibilities including:

• Providing broad commercial support across strategy development and procurement activities
• Supporting the creation of procurement plans, RAID management, and tracking delivery against outputs (using tools such as JIRA)
• Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships across the programme, with suppliers, and with wider public sector stakeholders

Location: London | Hybrid 2/3 days a week

Day Rate: £550 - £600pd Inside IR35
