You Role
While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:

• Delivering the UK group external financial statements, including disclosures within the annual report and accounts
• Managing external reporting, assets, ledgers, the shared service center, and knowledge management teams
• Handling the UK statutory and regulatory accounts process for external audit sign-off
• Coordinating the UK audit process, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring an efficient audit cycle
• Supporting technical accounting across the business to aid decision-making processes
• Maintaining a strong internal control environment
• Overseeing risks and opportunities related to the balance sheet to ensure a thorough review process, with a focus on cash flow and capital management. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and auditors
• Preparing board-quality outputs to support accounting judgments and key year-end deliverables
• Creating period-end close documentation and reporting packs, including variance analysis
• Overseeing the statutory cash flow process.

What you will need to Apply:
Please apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:

• Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• Significant experience in external reporting and financial accounting
• Ideally, experience gained from within a Big 4 practice or a FTSE 250 business
• Excellent IFRS knowledge as well as sound technical accounting knowledge
• Knowledge and experience working on Defined Benefit Pension Schemes Accounting is sought after
• Internal controls knowledge
• Sound knowledge of SAP or an equivalent system

As this is an interim position, applicants should be immediately available or on short notice and be happy to take a contract position.
