Commercial Manager

A growing manufacturing business is searching for a Commercial Manager in the greater Maidstone area.

Your Role:
While in this position your duties may include but will not be limited to:
  • Taking ownership of the strategic growth of key customer accounts, ensuring that a strong understanding of customer needs is maintained in order to meet their requirements and expectations
  • Developing a strong category vision, alongside joint category plans that are aligned to both the current and future market trends, as well as customer goals
  • Working collaboratively with various teams including supply chain, technical, customer and commercial teams, striving to build strong working relationships and working together to ensure timely product delivery and to support any technical escalations
  • Contributing to product development with technical insight and information to support growth and enhance offerings where possible
  • Supporting the development of data-led strategies with strong market and performance insights, as well as reviewing competitor activity, product performance in the market and consumer trends that may be relevant
  • Scheduling and planning promotional plans to maximise sales opportunities and customer impact
  • Reviewing the supply chains to identify potential opportunities for both process optimisation and cost savings, liaising with packing partners to ensure quality and consistency in areas of service and delivery and tackling sourcing or availability challenges to ensure solutions are delivered
  • Delivering the in-year cost mitigation plan
  • Providing expert and accurate sales forecasting, sales, margin and pricing reporting, and prepare valuable market intelligence to be shared with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Holding regular customer meeting reviews
  • Maintaining accurate data relating to both accounts and products on the systems
  • Meeting all financial, administrative and commercial controls

You MUST Have

  • Excellent experience with either category or account management
  • Proficient in delivering sound forecasting, analysis and reporting
  • Confident communicator, with eloquent negotiation and influential abilities and strong relationship building skills
  • A commercial, project management mindset, with excellent organisational skills, strategical thinking, results driven and stakeholder orientated
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and a good aptitude for managing large data sets

The position holder will be focussed on driving strategic development across multiple customer accounts, leading with expert category management and spearheading growth across margins, volumes and sales.

The business is offering a fantastic starting salary of up to £65,000 depending on relevant experience, with a potential to earn a good bonus. Alongside this, there will be additional benefits including an enhanced annual leave allowance and very good pension contribution, supplemented by other additional benefits, including health offerings.
