As Legal Counsel at Swyftx, you'll be a trusted legal advisor helping shape innovative products, commercial partnerships and strategic business decisions in one of Australia's top fintechs. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you'll provide practical, risk-based legal advice that enables business objectives while navigating one of Australia's most dynamic and rapidly evolving industries.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include: - Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and legal documents, with a strong focus on technology contracts and regulated service offerings.
- Provide ad hoc advice to the business on legal and regulatory matters, including Australian financial services and credit laws, AFSL obligations, AML/CTF requirements, consumer protection, marketing compliance, privacy and emerging cryptocurrency regulation.
- Support legal reviews of product, marketing, sales and operational initiatives, providing practical and commercially focused advice.
- Support strategic projects and company-wide initiatives by identifying legal risks and developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to Swyftx and provide timely updates and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external counsel, regulators and counterparties as required.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of legal processes, governance frameworks, templates and operational practices within the Legal team.
To be successful you will have: - Admitted to practice in an Australian jurisdiction with approximately 2–5 years' post-qualification experience, ideally gained within a commercial law firm and/or in-house legal environment.
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, particularly technology or commercial contracts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a practical and commercially focused way.
- An understanding of Australian financial services, consumer protection, privacy, AML/CTF or regulatory frameworks is highly regarded, although not essential.
- Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance legal risk while enabling business outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across a fast-paced business environment.
