As the Compliance and FinCrime Manager for New Zealand, you are the primary guardian of our regulatory integrity across the Tasman. You are responsible for ensuring Swyftx not only meets but masters its New Zealand obligations, providing expert oversight to ensure our operations and team members adhere to local policies and global standards.
You will lead the charge in reporting on the effectiveness of our compliance measures, constantly hunting for process improvements and innovative ways to mitigate risk in the fast-moving Kiwi digital asset landscape.

Your Core Responsibilities - NZ AML/CTF Leadership: Oversee the implementation and evolution of our AML/CTF compliance program specifically tailored for the New Zealand market.
- Strategic Obligations Management: Manage NZ-specific obligation registers and drive the execution of high-stakes periodic reviews.
- Policy & Register Governance: Maintain sophisticated policies and registers (including Conflicts of Interest) that reflect the cutting edge of NZ regulation.
- Incident & Regulatory Liaison: Assess complex incidents to determine reportable situations and assist with regulatory audits and inspections from the DIA and other NZ bodies.
- Product & Marketing Oversight: Support product development and review marketing collateral to ensure all communications remain compliant and transparent.
- Change & Implementation: Lead the rollout of compliance-related initiatives and support critical regulatory change projects across the NZ business.
- Advanced Analytics: Translate complex compliance data into clear insights through dashboards and visualizations for key executive stakeholders.
Technical & Behavioral Strengths - Compliance Veteran: 5+ years in a compliance-focused role with a deep understanding of the New Zealand regulatory landscape.
- NZ Regulatory Expert: Familiarity with guidance from the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) and other NZ regulators is essential.
- Framework Architect: Proven ability to build, implement, and refine compliance frameworks, internal controls, and AML/CTF programs.
- Collaborative Leader: Ability to work independently as our NZ expert while collaborating seamlessly with our global teams.
- Strategic Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a talent for building rapport across diverse departments.
- Crypto Fluent: An understanding of crypto/digital assets is highly regarded, helping you bridge the gap between DeFi and TradFi.
- Academic Grounding: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce, or a related field.
