An opportunity now exists for a Machinery Operator to join a wider crew on an expansive cattle station in the Northern Territory. Situated 260 kilometres from Halls Creek, WA and 650 kilometres from Katherine, NT, the Victoria River district is home to this 1-million-acre cattle aggregation expanding across two stations.
 
Reporting to the Station Manager and Assistant Station Manager, the Machinery Operator will form part of a larger crew of some 25 employees and will be solely responsible for operating the station dozer and grader in addition to attending to the maintenance of that machinery.
 
Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Operating CAT D6T dozer and a CAT 12H Grader.
  • Maintain station roads and develop new roads as required.
  • Ensure that fence lines are clear.
  • Construct and maintain fire breaks.
  • Attend to basic maintenance and up-keep of the machinery.
Selection Criteria:
  • To have previous experience operating a dozer & grader within rural conditions.
  • To have sound mechanical skills in order to service and do basic repairs to machinery.
  • To have a good attitude and work well within a wider team environment.
  • To understand this position is located in a very remote area of the Northern Territory and to be accustomed or willing to live and work in this environment.
