Workshop Manager, HALLS CREEK WA

On behalf of our clients, we are now recruiting for a motivated and talented Workshop Manager to become part of a cattle company in Western Australia. This position presents a unique leadership opportunity to ultimately work across the company's aggregation of cattle stations, all located in the heart of the Kimberley region.
 
Reporting to the Manager of Mechanics and Logistics and working closely with the Station Manager, the Workshop Manager will lead the maintenance team and be responsible for heavy vehicle accreditations, efficient servicing, maintenance and repairs of the company’s plant fleet.
 
Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • To coordinate and manage the maintenance program for all station vehicles, plant and machinery.
  • To implement the maintenance program and carry out repairs as required.
  • To manage the spare parts inventory.
  • To maintain a safe and efficient workshop and contribute to a positive safety culture.
  • To provide specialist technical support to station staff and to train operators to perform all daily checks and services.
  • To maintain company compliance with Heavy Vehicle Accreditations.
Selection Criteria:
  • To be trade qualified as a Mechanic or equivalent and possess a minimum of 5 years working in the heavy diesel or mechanical field.
  • To be able to establish, manage and execute the maintenance program for all station vehicles, plant and machinery.
  • To operate diagnostic and test equipment and to performance test components, systems and equipment.
  • To use tools and equipment safely and have the ability to store and care for components, parts, tools, and test equipment.
  • To be able to provide supervision, train and support staff as required.
  • To have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • To hold a current driver’s licence (a HR & R class licence will both be viewed favourably).
  • A current Advanced First Aid certificate will be viewed favourably.
