A wonderful, full time permanent opportunity for a Station Hand now exists on a cattle and cropping property a short distance from Wandoan, Queensland. Wandoan is a charming rural community situated on Queensland’s Western Downs region between Miles and Taroom along the Leichhardt Highway. With essential services and local community events and opportunities in abundance, Wandoan would be the perfect location to settle into a permanent position.
 
Reporting to the owners, the Experienced Station Hand’s role will encompass a mix of duties across the cattle breeding operation, rotational cropping and irrigation programs. Cattle work, mustering, machinery operating and general station maintenance will be required.
 
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
  • Mustering cattle using ATV’s, side-by-side’s and 2-wheel motorbikes as required.
  • Cattle yard drafting & processing.
  • Operating heavy earthmoving equipment such as a dozer, loader, grader and excavator (experience is preferred but not essential).
  • Discing, planting and spraying of crops.
  • General property maintenance duties such as workshop work, mechanical work, fencing and stock water point attendance.
