Truck Driver, CLERMONT QLD

Full-Time, Permanent Position Available Starting July 2025 with a Reputable Farming Company in Queensland
  • Secure this fantastic opportunity with a well-regarded farming enterprise!
  • Responsibilities include carting grain, cotton bales, and fertilizer—primarily within the local area!
  • Enjoy on-farm accommodation while working for an employer of choice!
Located just a manageable 100 kilometres west of Moranbah, our client's family-owned cropping property covers an impressive 43,000 acres and is currently in search of a Truck Driver to join their team in July 2025. This operation specialises in producing cotton and rotational cereal crops from start to finish, offering a remarkable chance for an individual to operate a new, well-maintained machinery within such a modern and expansive operation.
Starting in July 2025, the truck driver will be responsible for carting grain and cotton bales, as well as occasionally picking up fertiliser. The truck, a Kenworth 909, was new in January of last year and features an AB triple combination of trailers. Grain is delivered locally to feedlots and depots, while cotton bales are transported to Emerald and occasionally Mackay. Generally, all routes are local, with perhaps one longer journey each month, potentially to Townsville for fertiliser pickup. While the primary focus will be driving the truck, the driver may also be asked to operate farming equipment at random times if required.

Selection Criteria:
  • Must hold a current MC license with a good driving record.
  • Previous experience in grain carting is essential.
  • A solid mechanical aptitude is required to perform basic maintenance and organise necessary truck maintenance.
  • To be physically fit enough to roll tarps, climb trailers when necessary, and conduct basic maintenance.
  • Ability to work well with and communicate effectively with other team members and external business providers on behalf of the farming company.
Additional Details:
  • This is a permanent full-time position, and the Truck Driver will enjoy all the benefits of leave entitlements.
  • Expect a 60-hour working week.
  • The pay rate is $40 per hour as a permanent employee.
  • Single accommodation on the property will be provided.
