Our client owns and operates an aggregation of cattle stations across the incredible Kimberley region of Western Australia from Halls Creek to Fitzroy Crossing and across to Broome. On behalf of our client who is an industry leading cattle company in Western Australia, AusAG Rural are now seeking suitably experienced Station Cooks to fulfil vacancies with an immediate start available.
 
Reporting to the Station Manager/s, the successful Cook/s will be required to plan, prepare and deliver nutritious meals for staff, guests and contractors on site. While the Station Cook’s position on any property is a busy one, naturally a can-do attitude and proactive approach to everyday work is essential. At times, this position will require some domestic duties such as preparations of guest accommodation.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Budget, plan and prepare for the delivery of nutritious, enjoyable and efficient meals such as breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals to staff in addition to packed lunches as required.
  • Maintain a clean, hygienic and healthy kitchen, cold storage, serving and dining environment at all times and ensure food is stored hygienically and in a manner that maintains peak conditions, including freezers and refrigerators.
  • Ensure food handling legislation is complied with at all times and in all situations in addition to complying with and supporting an overall positive health and safety culture.
  • Maintain stock levels to ensure sufficient supplies are on hand and order stores accordingly.
  • Bag and label meat cuts for freezing following butchering.
  • Maintain electrical equipment, cooking equipment and utensils so they are clean and in good order and report any maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Dispose of rubbish regularly.
  • Maintain a high level of communication and liaison with customers, management and team members and become a valued member of a larger team environment.
Selection Criteria:
  • To possess adequate experience or training in food planning and preparation.
  • To possess adequate skills and knowledge in food safety and food hygiene matters.
  • To possess a strong work ethic and commitment to working safely.
  • A current first aid certificate will be highly regarded.
