Positions now exist with our client, a well-established truck company based at Oakey on the Darling Downs. On their behalf, we are now seeking multiple Trade Qualified Diesel Fitters or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join the growing workshop team.
 
Due to a strong pipeline of work and a workshop currently predominately staffed with talented apprentices, the requirement for more experienced, fully qualified tradespeople are required to support the team and help drive quality and efficiency.
 
Key Responsibilities & Duties

• To carry out maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment to ensure that workshop targets are met.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices.
• Maintain safety standards and adhere to company procedures.
• Report to the on-site Workshop Manager and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

Selection Criteria:

• Trade qualification in Diesel Fitting, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, or Light Vehicle Mechanics.
• Post-trade experience is preferred – you don’t need decades under your belt, but we are seeking those more senior than an apprentice.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude and a genuine team player.
• Must be based locally or able to reliably commute – no accommodation is provided.
• Must pass a pre-employment medical.
