A newly established position has become available with a reputable farming company located midway between Goondiwindi and Moree in New South Wales. Our client is a privately owned entity producing dryland wheat, barley, chickpeas and dryland cotton in addition to running a small number of breeder cattle. Encompassing four properties within a short radius of each other, our client is committed to successfully producing annual summer and winter rotational crops and partaking in research plant trials and innovative crop trials.

Reporting to the Assistant Farm Manager and the Owners, the successful Cropping Assistant will be an enthusiastic and dedicated full time employee working across all areas of the farming operating including ground preparation, spraying, planting, spreading and harvesting as well as slashing and carrying out machinery and property maintenance.

• To operate late model, John Deere equipment including a high clearance camera spray rig, tractors, headers and other broadacre cropping equipment and implements.
• To provide assistance with machinery and property maintenance as required.
• To be an honest individual with a positive mindset who is able to communicate well within the team.
• To be prepared to listen, learn and undertake training and accreditation where required.
• To be physically capable to undertake labour intensive work when required in variable weather conditions.
• To understand this is a non-smoking workplace.

Accommodation, Remuneration & Benefits:

• A renovated 3-bedroom cottage is available on farm for the successful candidate. The cottage is air-conditioned and has a new kitchen, bathroom, polished timber floors, downstairs laundry & fenced yard. Pop-up sprinklers have been installed in the yard.
• Pets are by negotiation and are to be outdoor living.
• A work ute is provided for work purposes only.
• The hourly rate will be by negotiation upon experience and will be based on a 50+ hour working week.
