AusAG Rural is excited to announce a new opportunity for a Senior Farm Hand to work on a dryland cropping property situated between Moree and Goondiwindi. This family-owned and operated farming business produces both summer and winter rotational crops and manages a comprehensive in-house operation across 8,000 acres, featuring well-maintained machinery, outstanding workshop facilities, and advanced fertiliser and soil programs. The role of the Senior Farm Hand that is currently available will cover all aspects of this operation, and my client is eager to welcome a new team member who can share their enthusiasm for farming and their vision for the future.
 
Selection Criteria:
  • Ideally, having at least three to five years of experience in a hands-on, broadacre cropping role will be advantageous.
  • Bringing an existing skill set along with proficiency and confidence in mechanics, operations, welding, and fabrication is preferred, as well as basic auto-electrical experience.
  • Strong communication skills are essential in this organisation to allow the successful candidate to work both independently and collaboratively within the team.
  • Previous experience with Trimble GPS auto steer technology and other technologies used in farming operations is required.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills are necessary, along with basic computer skills including data entry on smartphones and tablets, and an understanding of the significance of data entry and record keeping.
  • To provide support in overseeing personnel for the owners whenever it is needed, ensuring smooth operations and efficient management.
  • A current first aid certificate, chemical certification, and a valid driver's licence are also required.
  • Comply with the smoke-free workplace and accommodation policies of the company.

  • A family residence featuring 4 bedrooms is open for occupancy on a farm.
  • Compensation will be open to negotiation and will reflect the applicant's experience.
  • This position is full-time and permanent.
