An opportunity now exists for a Machinery Operator to join a family-owned dryland farming operation in northern New South Wales. This is a wonderful opportunity for applicants to consider should you wish to secure a start in a long term, stable position within the Australian cropping industry in a central location. This particular farming company operates on an end-to-end basis producing a variety of winter & summer rotations and two contracting businesses – earthmoving and spraying.

The successful candidate will ultimately be involved in operations undertaken within both contracting companies and operate the self-propelled CASE Patriot spray rig with trailing WeedIT + D6R dozer. Contract work is undertaken with the general vicinity of Garah, with employees having the ability to return home to Garah each evening.

Requirements:

• To present with some prior experience operating a spray rig.
• To have a current chemical certificate.
• To be able to operate a dozer for scrub work such as tree pushing, fence line clearing and general rural works.
• A sound mechanical skill set.
• To have good literacy and numeracy skills, an open and honest attitude and good communication skills are essential to succeed within this position.
• A current driver’s licence, vehicle, and ideally basic tools to offer.

Accommodation will be provided off-farm in Garah. A farm ute will be provided while on the property that has a compressor and toolboxes on it. Applicants should note that this is a non-smoking workplace. Remuneration will be by negotiation upon application and based on any prior experience brought to the position.
