Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor

Hancock Agriculture is one of Australia’s largest and most progressive agricultural enterprises, encompassing extensive beef cattle operations across iconic stations and properties. We’re committed to excellence, innovation, and above all, safety — not just as a system, but as a core part of our culture.

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Work Health and Safety (WHS) Advisor to join our team. This role is key to supporting our operations and contractor network with practical, risk-based safety solutions — and driving the cultural shift needed to make safety a shared value across our workforce.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Safety, you’ll be at the frontline of shaping how WHS is understood and applied throughout Hancock Agriculture.
This is a hands-on, influential role that requires strong knowledge of the beef cattle industry, a practical understanding of operations, and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement and cultural change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert WHS advice and support to station managers, operational teams, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, industry codes of practice, and internal systems.
  • Drive proactive risk identification and control using the Hierarchy of Controls.
  • Conduct and support audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Coach and mentor frontline leaders to own and lead safety in their areas.
  • Challenge outdated practices and help drive innovative, practical safety solutions.
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of Hancock Agriculture’s safety culture and systems.
About You
  • Demonstrated WHS experience within agriculture, beef cattle, or related primary industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders — from station hands to senior leadership.
  • Confident in challenging the status quo and influencing behavioural and cultural change.
  • Passionate about safety not just as compliance, but as a value.
  • Practical, self-driven, and capable of working independently in remote and regional settings when travel is required.
What We Offer
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in one of Australia’s most respected agricultural businesses.
  • A direct line to leadership and the ability to influence decision-making.
  • A team-first culture that values integrity, innovation, and accountability.
  • Competitive remuneration and support for professional development.
  • The satisfaction of knowing your work directly protects people, animals, and operations.
Ready to Make a Difference?
If you’re a WHS professional with a strong understanding of agriculture and a passion for meaningful cultural change, we want to hear from you.
