Senior Project Manager – Interiors (Fit-Out & Refurbishment) Sydney | Major Refurb & Fit-Out Projects | Leadership Role

A leading construction group with a strong national presence is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join their growing Interiors division in Sydney. This is a key senior appointment suited to someone with approximately 20 years of experience delivering complex refurbishment and fit-out projects across commercial, workplace, education, health or institutional environments.

This builder is known for its engineering strength, quality delivery, strong operational systems, and long-term client relationships. With a robust forward pipeline, they are investing in senior leadership to support continued growth.

About the Role Reporting to a Project Director, you’ll take full responsibility for the successful delivery of major interiors projects — from planning and methodology through to completion and client handover.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive program performance, manage commercial outcomes, and ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

This role requires a calm, well-rounded, technically strong operator who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands the intricacies of services-heavy, detailed fit-out delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of refurbishment and fit-out projects
  • Develop delivery strategy, staging plans and construction methodology
  • Oversee design coordination, services integration and consultant engagement
  • Manage client relationships and act as the primary project interface
  • Provide leadership and guidance to PMs, SPEs, CAs, and Site Managers
  • Drive procurement, cost control, forecasting, and contract administration
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, QA and company systems
  • Resolve technical issues, manage risk, and maintain project performance
  • Mentor teams and contribute to a strong, collaborative culture
About You
  • ~20 years’ experience in commercial interiors, fit-out or refurbishment
  • Proven track record delivering major projects as a Senior Project Manager
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Highly competent in design coordination, services, sequencing and live environments
  • Strong commercial understanding — contracts, variations, forecasting
  • Confident leading large, multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient in systems such as Procore, Jobpac, Cheops, MS Project or similar
  • Professional, organised, composed and solutions-focused
