SASH Adelaide is looking for motivated and aspiring veterinary nurses to join our Nurse Internship Program, an 18-month structured development program designed to introduce Veterinary Nurses to the exciting world of specialist and emergency veterinary care.

As a Nurse Intern, you'll become part of this collaborative environment while being supported to learn, ask questions, challenge yourself and grow.

The Nurse Internship
The SASH Adelaide Nurse Internship is a structured, 18-month program designed to build upon the foundations you have already developed in general practice and help you transition into specialist and emergency nursing.
You'll rotate through a variety of clinical departments, gaining exposure to different specialties, patient presentations, workflows and nursing responsibilities.
Rotations include:

• Emergency & Critical Care
• Internal Medicine
• Surgery
• Hospital Care
• Oncology
• Cardiology
• And more!

Each rotation gives you dedicated time within the service, allowing you to become part of the team, develop department-specific skills and gain hands-on experience with a diverse and interesting caseload.

Throughout the program, you'll work alongside experienced veterinary nurses, veterinarians, interns, residents and specialists who will support your learning and development.

The goal? To help you progress from a nurse who is new to the specialist environment to one who feels confident, capable and ready to take the next step in their veterinary nursing career.

About you
We're looking for nurses who are enthusiastic about developing their careers and aren't afraid to step outside their comfort zone.

You don't need previous specialist or emergency experience. That's what the internship is here to help you develop.

To be considered, you'll need:

• A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing OR Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
• A minimum of one year of full-time veterinary nursing experience within general practice, or equivalent experience.
• A positive and proactive approach to learning.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good organisation and time-management skills.
• A willingness to ask questions, receive feedback and continually develop.
• A genuine passion for providing exceptional patient care.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is curious, motivated and ready to learn.

This is a full-time position for a period of 18 months with a requirement to work rotating shifts, including after hours, weekends and public holidays.

Throughout the program, Nurse Interns can be considered for permanent roles in one of our departments, depending on availability.
