About the Role
Nurses are at the heart of our team, and we would not be able to do what we do without our amazing nurses. The team is now ready to accept applications for Emergency and Critical Care Nurses to join our brand-new facility, working closely with
Dr Patricia Rosenstein and her experienced team of emergency vets. This team is offering full-time, permanent positions, with part-time considered for the right person. Our emergency team operates 24 hours, 7 days and so availability to work a variety of shifts is required.

About You
We are looking for passionate ICU Nurses who can work independently, with a reliable, adaptable and proactive approach to your work. We are looking for team members with the following skills:
- Collaborate with the Critical Care Specialists to provide gold standard intensive care to critical, vulnerable and dynamic hospitalised patients in the ICU
- Assist with and/or perform advanced interventions such as placement of central, PICC and arterial lines, direct arterial pressure monitoring, urinary catheter placement, feeding tube placement, high flow nasal oxygen provision, and mechanical ventilation
- Participate in and lead CPR resuscitation efforts
- Assist with admissions and discharges from the ICU
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- Conduct and collect various laboratory samples for internal and external analysis
- Assist with transfer to and reception of critical care referrals from general practice veterinarians
- Support the emergency department with triage and procedural responsibilities
- Assist with critical care anaesthesia, including TIVA, in collaboration with anaesthetists within the SASH network
To be considered for this position, applicants must have: - Completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
- A minimum of 4 years, full-time experience as a qualified nurse.
- Previous experience in Emergency and ICU would be highly regarded but is not essential.
