On Farm Livestock Manager for progressive cattle breeding operation

Our client is seeking an ambitious person to take on the fulltime role as the livestock manager on their cattle breeding property located 27 km from Goulburn NSW. The property is at the forefront of cattle breeding and technology and has an interest with the University of Sydney in research. Our client prides itself in best practice farming systems ensuring maximum production is achieved in a sustainable way.

This well-developed property of 1350 ha has excellent infrastructure and fencing, currently running 500 composite breeders with an AI and ET program utilising some of the best genetics domestically and internationally with plans for substantial expansion. The property has started on the journey of implementing intense regenerative agricultural practices and is setup with excellent laneway systems, running all new fences utilising electric fencing and rotational grazing systems with supplement feeding.

The successful applicant will be someone who has a desire to learn, a strong interest in cattle breeding and is computer savvy with the need for attention to detail in recording data and keeping records up-to-date. Our client prides themselves on low stress stock handling and you must be competent and confident in low stress handling techniques. You will be someone who is self-motivated, can follow a plan, take direction, work well within a team and be responsible for stock movements. The team includes farm management and staff, the owner and consultants.

You will report to the Farm Manager and there is an opportunity for career progression. An attractive remuneration is on offer dependant on skills and experience and includes a company work ute for work purposes.
