Stud hands required for thoroughbred breeding operation.

Our clients own and operate a successful thoroughbred farm specialising in mare and foal care, spellers, and sales preparation located 10 kilometres from Scone, the horse capital of Australia in the New England area of NSW.

We are looking for fun, energetic people with a can-do attitude, you must be forward thinking, motivated and ready to ‘have a go’. They are a small, yet hardworking team that get on well and have fun while working.
You will be involved with all aspects of horse husbandry including but not limited to –
  • Horse handling, feeding, checking.
  • Cleaning stables and yards.
  • Farm maintenance
  • Administering medications and grooming etc.
Some horse experience is preferred but attitude and willingness to work are more important. Drivers licence is essential, and you must be fit and able to work a manual job.
You will have an open mind and be willing to take instructions and learn. Observation and communication are of utmost importance and you must be careful, diligent, and willing to adhere to WHS protocols.
Working a 12-day fortnight with split shifts on weekends, the successful candidates will be paid Award wages with accommodation supplied being modern spacious well-furnished shared house in town, walking distance to shops, pubs cafe sporting fields.
Scone has a good country nightlife and plenty of interesting things to do on weekends off. The use of a car is included if required.
