Lead Global Agricultural Innovation The Agricultural Business Research Institute (ABRI) has been the engine behind genetic progress in the cattle industry for more than 50 years. Today, ABRI data supports over 70 breed societies and 66 million recorded animals worldwide. Now, ABRI is entering its most ambitious chapter: transforming from a research-focused institute into a commercially agile agritech leader.
ABRI is seeking a detail-focused and reliable Breed Registrar to deliver accurate, timely registry services for a portfolio of breed societies. This role is central to maintaining data integrity, supporting members, and ensuring compliance with society rules and standards.
The Opportunity As a Breed Registrar, you will process registrations, transfers, and pedigree updates, maintain accurate member and animal records, and provide steady, practical support to breeders and society members. You will work closely with the Breed Secretariat team and Registry Services to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
This role suits someone who enjoys structured work, values accuracy, and communicates clearly with members and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Process calf registrations, transfers, upgrades, and corrections
- Maintain accurate pedigree, ownership, and membership records
- Apply eligibility criteria and society rules consistently
- Respond to member enquiries with clarity and professionalism
- Identify and resolve data anomalies, escalating issues where required
- Liaise with Registry Services on system functionality and data issues
- Maintain accurate documentation and processing notes
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Meet established processing timeframes and quality standards
About You You are an experienced and detail‑focused administrator who combines strong data accuracy with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with breeders, members, and industry stakeholders.
You bring a steady track record of delivering reliable service, applying rules consistently, and maintaining high‑quality records.
Your background demonstrates:
- Strong administrative and data processing capability
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Clear communication and steady customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and apply rules and eligibility criteria
- Sound judgement in managing exceptions and escalations
- Experience in administrative or data management roles
- Exposure to livestock, agriculture, or membership-based organisations (advantageous)
