Senior WHS Advisor

Atlas Recruitment have partnered exclusively with a leading tier 2 contractor in Melbourne that are searching for an additional Senior HSE Advisor to join their well regarded safety team.

Safety in this builder is taken seriously and is at the forefront of the business & projects. 

The team & role 
Working as a Senior member in the dedicated HSE team, you will be part of a dedicated safety team that is collaborative and forward thinking. You will be performing the following duties and be working across 2-3 projects in a roaming function, coaching & mentoring site teams & stakeholders on all things HSE.

▪ Strategise, develop and implement best practice and contemporary initiatives to improve safety culture and performance across the business;
▪ Identify hazards and implementing control measures to reduce risks;
▪ Lead and improve the implementation of the WHS systems across operations;
▪Review and update Project Risk Assessment and WHS Management Plan ensuring controls are implemented on site
▪Chair Weekly Safety Walks and manage close out of items identified and develop safety walk minutes
- Develop and present Toolbox Talks and other WHS related training to employees and workers
▪Review permits for all activities as required in the management system
▪Complete quarterly WHSMS audits on project/s
▪Complete incident investigations and reporting of any LTIs, MTIs and notifiable incidents
▪All other responsibilities nominated in WHS Management Plan
▪Support and ensure the Project team(s) are meeting their safety responsibilities outlined in the WHS Management System
▪Manage the notification process to the regulator in the Victorian Branch;
▪Build relationships with key stakeholders including the regulator, independent auditors and key client and subcontract representatives;
▪Keep abreast of and inform Directors of changes to WHS regulations so safe systems of work are appropriately developed to provide a safe workplace.

Remuneration of the candidate will be based on experience, however above market for top level candidates.
