As Business Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the Executive Committee, you’ll work closely with staff, board members, and external partners to ensure smooth running.

This role is perfect for someone looking to bring their finance, governance, and leadership skills into a community-focused sports organisation while maintaining high levels of professionalism and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial & Operational Leadership: Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and compliance (Xero experience preferred).
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure all policies, regulations, and contracts are up to date.
• People & Culture: Lead and support staff, conduct performance reviews, and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Marketing & Communications: Assist with promotional activities, including social media and sponsorship engagement.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with Basketball Victoria, local councils, partners, and the SBA community.

About You We’re looking for a strong leader with:

• Experience in business operations, finance, or sports management
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple and changing priorities across several stakeholders
• A passion for community sport and stakeholder engagement
• Experience in supporting and developing direct reporting staff

Qualifications & Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or Sports Management
• Current Working with Children Check & National Police Check
• Proficiency in Xero, Microsoft Office, PlayHQ, and banking platforms
• Driver’s Licence
