Production Manager

Our Client, a globally recognised manufacturer of plastic piping solutions, is seeking a Production Manager to join their Northern Brisbane site. Servicing a wide range of industries from food and bev, marine, gas, mining, water, and more, they pride themselves on their quality and efficiency across the brand.
 
This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes as well as high-level production management experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day production, forward planning production schedules to meet deadlines, reviewing engineering drawings, allocating resources, and promoting a safety and quality.

  • $130,000 - $160,000 + bonus + superannuation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team consisting of Project Engineers, Fabrication Supervisor, Quality Control Officer, Planner, and Fabricators.
  • Review project plans, engineering drawings and specifications to ensure feasibility and alignment with fabrication capabilities.
  • Liaise with sites in other states and internationally.
  • Lead LEAN, 5S and Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Allocate resources including manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and proper operations of tools and machinery.
  • Engage with key customers to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Procurement, Sales, Accounts and Logistics teams.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and lead incident investigations.
  • Maintain a strong workplace culture and collaborative work environment.
 Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years in a leadership role with Production Management or Supervision.
  • Heavy manufacturing experience in steel or plastic.
  • Experience in implementing LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and ISO standards.
