Business Development Manager

We're partnering with a leading transport company in Australia, known for its local and global reach, as they look to expand their sales team in Sydney. As a Business Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities along Sydney’s transport corridors.

Your focus will be on building strong client relationships, driving financial success, and contributing to the company’s continued growth. This is an exciting, results-driven role with plenty of room for professional development and impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of leads and prospective clients for linehaul and global freight forwarding services.
  • Create and implement growth strategies that focus on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs and identify new opportunities.
  • Map out local markets, strengthening your network through collaboration both internally and externally.
  • Lead business meetings with prospective clients to promote services and solutions tailored to their objectives.
  • Negotiate and manage sales contracts, ensuring they comply with legal and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, revenue, and invoices.
  • Provide exceptional after-sales support and nurture long-term client relationships.
  • Mentor and guide entry-level staff to become proficient sales professionals.
What We’re Looking For: We need a motivated sales professional with a proven track record in business development or sales, ideally within the transport or freight forwarding industry. If you're passionate about making an impact and driving growth, we want to hear from you!

Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role (industry experience is highly desirable).
  • Background in transport & logistics (air, sea, road & rail) is a plus.
  • Strong sales performance with a history of achieving measurable results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel) and CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • In-depth understanding of the market and land transport operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and time-management skills.
  • Highly driven and ambitious, with a hands-on approach to all aspects of the sales process.
