Import Depot Manager


S&you is excited to represent a leading logistics company in their search for an experienced and dynamic Imports Depot Manager. This role offers an excellent opportunity to oversee a bonded licensed depot and contribute to the efficiency of depot operations.
 
As the Import Depot Manager, you will collaborate with the wider Imports team to manage and coordinate all aspects of the bonded depot. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with ABF and AQIS regulations while optimising operational efficiency and minimising costs.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain a S77G licensed depot.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations and ensure they align with company performance expectations, standards, and strict KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with ABF, AQIS, and other relevant government regulations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for ABF and Quarantine for inspections and inquiries.
  • Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including staff (casuals and contractors), workload, rosters, and compliance.
  • Lead the warehouse team by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training and guidance.
  • Optimise depot layout and organisation to maximise space utilisation and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Coordinate the storage and transportation of inbound and outbound cargo/freight.
  • Ensure all goods/cargo/freight are accurately scanned and labelled in the warehouse management system.
  • Oversee the unloading of freight from incoming transport carriers and sea freight containers.
  • Stay updated on current customs and AQIS industry changes and trends.
  • Act as a liaison between senior management and warehouse staff.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience as a Depot Manager or in a similar role within a fast-paced warehouse environment (preferably in logistics or freight forwarding).
  • Experience with S77G depots is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of comprehensive depot operations.
  • In-depth understanding of ABF & AQIS compliance and regulations.
  • Current and valid Forklift Licence is essential.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
