About the Role
 
We are recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to join a major national contractor within its expanding Queensland operation.
 
This opportunity will suit a Project Engineer with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor experience who is looking to work across complex civil, infrastructure, demolition, bulk earthworks or remediation projects.
Working closely with the Project Manager and site delivery team, you will support the technical, commercial and operational delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager with day-to-day project delivery
  • Coordinate engineering, construction and subcontractor activities
  • Manage project documentation, RFIs, drawings and technical submissions
  • Assist with project programming and short-term planning
  • Monitor project costs, quantities, productivity and progress
  • Assist with procurement of subcontractors, suppliers and materials
  • Manage subcontractor packages and track performance
  • Prepare and review variations, claims and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate site inspections and quality documentation
  • Manage ITPs, hold points and project quality requirements
  • Assist with project forecasting and monthly reporting
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders
  • Identify technical and delivery risks and assist with resolving site issues
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings and safety requirements
  • Support project closeout, commissioning and handover activities
About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Project Engineer
  • Previous experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience delivering civil construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical and problem-solving capability
  • Experience managing subcontractors and construction packages
  • Good understanding of project costs, budgets and forecasting
  • Experience with project documentation, programming and reporting
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality and environmental requirements
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project delivery environment
