Estimator - Civil Renewables & Energy Infrastructure

About: the Company Renewables division is continuing to grow, delivering major renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects throughout Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.
The team delivers large-scale civil infrastructure packages across:
- Wind Farms
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- High Voltage Transmission Lines
- Substations
- Renewable Energy Infrastructure
- Bulk Civil Earthworks
Current and recent projects include developments around Gladstone, Stanwell and several major transmission and substation projects across Australia.
The Opportunity An opportunity exists for an experienced
Estimator to join the Victorian Renewables team.
Working alongside the Senior Estimator and Project Delivery team, you will prepare accurate, competitive tenders for major civil infrastructure packages associated with Australia's growing renewable energy sector. You'll be involved throughout the entire tender lifecycle, from initial enquiry through to successful project handover.
Projects typically include civil works associated with transmission lines, substations, renewable energy developments and bulk earthworks, with packages ranging up to approximately
$100 million.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare detailed first-principles estimates for civil infrastructure projects.
- Review drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
- Develop construction methodologies and tender programmes.
- Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Prepare accurate cost plans and tender submissions.
- Issue RFQs and evaluate subcontractor quotations.
- Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare scopes of work, technical submissions and commercial documentation.
- Attend site inspections and tender meetings when required.
- Maintain tender registers and reporting.
- Support project handovers to delivery teams.
- Assist in developing estimating systems and processes.
About You We're looking for an Estimator with approximately
3-5 years' experience who has worked across major civil infrastructure projects.
Ideally you'll have experience in:
- Renewable energy projects
- High voltage transmission lines
- Electrical substations
- Bulk earthworks
- Civil infrastructure
- Utilities or power infrastructure
Experience working for either a principal contractor or civil subcontractor will be highly regarded.
Technical Skills You'll ideally have experience with:
- First principles estimating
- Pronamics Expert Estimation (or similar estimating software)
- MS Project and/or Primavera P6
- Contract management
- Project scheduling
- Cost planning
- Procurement and subcontractor management
- Reading engineering drawings and specifications
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
