Estimator / Contract Administrator role (Open to Quantity Surveyor) – Structural Steel
A growing structural steel contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator, Contract Administrator, or Quantity Surveyor to support a strong pipeline of major projects across SA, VIC and NSW.
This is a key commercial role within the business, with a strong focus on variations management and project cost control across a high volume of live projects nationally. Currently managed within the estimating function, there is a clear need for an experienced professional to take ownership and drive consistency across the portfolio.
The Role Working closely with estimating, project delivery and senior leadership teams, you will play a central role in managing variations, supporting commercial outcomes, and ensuring consistent processes across multiple projects.
You will gain exposure to large-scale structural steel packages across infrastructure, transport, aviation and defence sectors.
Key Responsibilities - Manage and take ownership of variations across multiple projects nationwide
- Prepare, assess and negotiate variations, progress claims and final accounts
- Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow
- Review contracts and identify commercial risks and opportunities
- Support procurement, letting of subcontract packages and downstream contract management
- Work closely with estimating, delivery and manufacturing teams to ensure commercial alignment
- Contribute to improving commercial processes, reporting and overall project performance
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as an Estimator, Contract Administrator or Quantity Surveyor
- Strong exposure to structural steel projects, ideally large-scale packages
- Background working for a contractor or consultancy (both considered)
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and downstream packages
- Solid understanding of variations, claims and contract administration
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently
- Commercially astute, organised and proactive
