Major Loss Commercial Estimator Brisbane | Hybrid | Full-Time
We’re working with a well-established business in the insurance and restoration sector that delivers large-scale repair and recovery projects across commercial property portfolios. With a strong pipeline of work and long-standing insurer relationships, they are looking to bring in an experienced estimator to support major loss claims and complex reinstatement projects.
This position will suit someone who knows how to price commercial building works accurately, understands the urgency and complexity that comes with insurance-related projects, and can manage multiple stakeholders across the life of a claim.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for preparing detailed estimates on major loss commercial projects, reviewing scopes, assessing damage, attending site inspections, and working closely with internal delivery teams, subcontractors, insurers, and clients. The role requires someone who can balance technical accuracy with commercial awareness and keep things moving in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare detailed cost estimates for major loss and commercial repair projects
- Review scopes, plans, reports, and supporting documentation
- Carry out site inspections and assess repair methodology
- Liaise with insurers, assessors, clients, trades, and internal teams
- Monitor budgets and ensure estimates align with project requirements
- Support delivery teams through pricing updates, variations, and handover
- Contribute to smooth project delivery through strong coordination and communication
What We’re Looking For - Proven experience in construction estimating
- Background in commercial building, remedial works, insurance repairs, or restoration
- Strong understanding of cost planning, budget management, and scope review
- Ability to assess building damage and recommend practical repair solutions
- Knowledge of roofing systems and repair methods would be highly regarded
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with multiple stakeholders
- Organised, detail-focused, and able to work across several jobs at once
- Exposure to insurance claims or restoration works would be an advantage
- Relevant construction qualification is preferred but not essential for the right person
