Project Manager - Leadership - Construction

Senior Leadership role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a growing business delivering modularised prefabrication solutions to the construction industry (reinforced steel). This role will see you managing projects from award through to completion, with full responsibility across planning, technical delivery and financial performance.

The role
  • Deliver projects from award through to completion, ensuring safety, quality, environmental and commercial targets are achieved
  • Act as the main point of contact on projects, managing issues both technically and commercially and escalating where required
  • Lead and contribute to weekly team meetings and pre-starts
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting, including P&L and KPI reporting across hours, costs, technical outcomes and deliverables
  • Ensure projects are set up correctly prior to delivery, appropriately resourced and delivered in line with company objectives and procedures
  • Allocate resources for construction works in conjunction with management and supervisors on a weekly basis
  • Plan labour requirements through three-week lookahead programming
  • Lead project teams through procurement of materials, subcontracts and labour
  • Manage and develop subcontracts for key procurement items
  • Attend site and project meetings with both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and manage variations and changes across projects
  • Approve invoices in line with delegation of authority
  • Accurately report monthly project and company P&L results
  • Lead site teams to ensure progress is tracked and issues are addressed effectively
  • Maintain site records including diaries, HSE documentation, SWMS and cost tracking
  • Ensure company procedures, HSEQ systems and QA processes are implemented consistently
  • Promote the business on projects and build strong working relationships
Working conditions
  • Full-time position - managing projects across NSW
Quality, safety and environment
  • Ensure construction works comply with plans, specifications and approved ITPs
  • Monitor the standard of workmanship across delivery teams
  • Ensure inspections, testing and hold points are completed and documented
  • Maintain internal QA and project filing systems
  • Lead workplace inspections and ensure incident reporting, corrective actions and NCRs are managed appropriately
  • Review and brief project-specific WHS and environmental documentation
  • Ensure site activities comply with project safety and environmental management plans
About you
  • Minimum 10 years post-university experience in an engineering or construction, with at least 2 years’ experience in Australia
  • Proven experience delivering projects with full accountability for safety, quality, program and budget
  • Strong commercial and contract knowledge 
  • Degree qualification or equivalent preferred
  • Strong understanding of engineering, commercial and risk management requirements
  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and delivering profitable projects
