Training Manager

A large Queensland Government program is entering its delivery phase and requires an experienced Training Manager to design and deliver enterprise-wide learning and development initiatives.

This role will lead the development of a modern, effective learning strategy to support large-scale digital transformation. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, project teams, and subject matter experts to ensure staff are equipped with the knowledge and capability to adopt new systems and processes successfully.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive Learning Strategy and Plan that aligns with project objectives and modern learning principles.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning priorities across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Design and develop curricula, training materials, and e-learning resources tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, accessible, and relevant.
  • Facilitate interactive training sessions, workshops, and presentations both in-person and virtually.
  • Use a variety of instructional design techniques and digital learning tools to enhance engagement and retention.
  • Establish and apply evaluation frameworks to measure the quality and effectiveness of learning initiatives.
  • Partner with internal Learning & Development teams and project leaders to align learning activities with organisational goals.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  
Ideally you will have the following:
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in learning or organisational change consulting on large ICT programs or projects.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and curriculum development.
  • Proven experience developing and delivering training within an Agile project environment.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible learning content.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
  
Desirable:
  • Certification in instructional design or training facilitation.
  • Experience applying gamification in learning.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Online, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Visio, Project, Viva Engage, and MS Office tools.
