We are seeking four experienced EL2-level Actuaries to take on leadership positions within a major national program. These roles are ideal for senior actuarial professionals who bring deep technical expertise, strategic insight, and proven leadership capability in complex environments.
As a Lead Actuary, you will lead a specialist team with responsibility for planning, resource management, risk resolution, and the delivery of highly complex and sensitive actuarial projects. You will provide authoritative advice to senior executives and stakeholders, influencing strategy, policy, and operational practices.
These positions require a high level of independence, judgement, and decision-making, with accountability for delivering outcomes of strategic significance. You will be working across large-scale, data-rich environments where actuarial and insurance-based modelling directly supports financial sustainability and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities - Apply actuarial and insurance-based techniques to project Scheme costs.
- Develop and update actuarial valuation models and associated management reports.
- Evaluate and analyse policy decisions and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Provide high-level statistical and actuarial advice to senior management and stakeholders.
- Lead reporting, analysis, and data management activities.
- Extract, cleanse, and validate data from multiple systems for modelling and reporting purposes.
- Deliver actionable insights aligned with corporate priorities.
- Lead and mentor team members, supporting performance and capability development.
Required skills and experience - Relevant tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Associate-level qualification with significant progress towards Fellowship.
- 10–15+ years’ actuarial experience, with 6–10 years post-qualification.
- Demonstrated experience applying actuarial techniques in large-scale, complex environments.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

These roles will be offered as initial 12 month contracts + 12 month extension options.
