Business Analyst - Asset Policy

A major enterprise-wide Cyber Uplift Program is underway to strengthen security controls and ensure robust governance of technology assets. This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to focus specifically on asset-related discovery, analysis, and reporting within a large and complex digital environment.

Sitting within a high-performing Digital Division, you will work across multiple business units and technical teams to support the uplift of asset management practices, including the identification, classification, and analysis of hardware, software, and data assets across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead analysis and mapping of technology assets, including inventory consolidation and lifecycle documentation.
  • Establish a centralised, trusted source of asset data to support cyber security and compliance objectives.
  • Define functional and non-functional requirements related to asset management and access control.
  • Consolidate disparate data sources and develop meaningful reports for decision-making and risk mitigation.
  • Produce high-quality artefacts including current/future state models, roadmaps, business cases, and support documentation.
  • Support project activities including stakeholder engagement, operational transition, testing, and benefits realisation.
Required Experience:
  • 8+ years’ experience in business analysis within Cyber Security or complex enterprise IT environments.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management across hardware, software, and data ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to map technology assets and define requirements supporting secure access and visibility.
  • Experience producing asset-related artefacts, reports, and documentation for large transformation projects.
  • Proven ability to navigate technical and business teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
Highly Regarded:
  • Understanding of network segmentation and remote access controls.
  • Familiarity with security standards such as NIST, Essential 8, ASD ISM, AES-CSF, or SOCI Act.
  • Experience establishing asset repositories or contributing to CMDB-related initiatives.
  • Background in energy, utilities, or other regulated industries.
This is a critical role for a Business Analyst with strong asset management and cyber awareness to influence meaningful outcomes in a nationally significant program. You’ll help lay the foundation for better visibility, control, and compliance in a digital-first organisation.
