Control Systems Engineer

Join a major digital transformation project focused on the energy and utilities sector. We are seeking an experienced Grid Control Specialist to support and enhance a state-wide, mission-critical system for power network control and outage management.

You will work within a high-performing engineering team, supporting a complex Distribution Management System (DMS). This role requires strong technical expertise in systems administration, integration, and performance support of non-production and production environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues impacting performance or stability.
  • Perform system maintenance and support activities across multiple DMS environments.
  • Monitor systems to ensure continuous service and adherence to operational standards.
  • Contribute to upgrades, system configuration changes, and integration tasks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop technical documentation and implementation standards.
  • Support project delivery by ensuring tasks are completed within agreed timeframes.

Essential Skills
  • Strong experience with Linux/UNIX systems administration (preferably Red Hat).
  • Exposure to GE ADMS or similar Distribution Management Systems.
  • Solid background in large-scale IT system integration across operating systems, communications protocols, scripting, and virtualisation.
  • Proficiency in Oracle RDBMS, including complex, multi-schema environments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of security architecture in complex IT environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems or control systems.
  • Experience working within the energy or utilities sector.
