This large, privately held group is looking for a heavyweight operator to lead its PR strategy from the front; they have never had anyone in this role, and it's brand new. This is your chance to have a real impact. This is not your average comms role, and I'm sure you've already picked up on this. This group want someone senior, well-connected, and competent, hopefully not too much to ask :)
You’ll plug into their existing agency relationships and take ownership of strategic direction, media positioning, and key stakeholder engagement. (Don't gloss over 'key stakeholder engagement', this is not your typical KSHE.)
We don’t need someone glued to day-to-day press releases. We are seeking a high-level communications strategist, ideally with experience in political campaigns. We're talking beefy chops here, who can elevate our brand, open doors, and own the narrative.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and own the group's overall PR and comms direction
- Build and execute strategic media and public affairs campaigns
- Leverage high-level media, government, and industry connections
- Work alongside our retained PR firm to amplify reach and effectiveness
- Provide senior counsel to leadership and manage reputation risk
- Oversee and support internal communications for key initiatives and projects
- Engage with stakeholders at the highest levels: government, corporate, and media
About You: - Senior PR leader with a proven track record in corporate, agency, or political settings
- Deep media and stakeholder relationships - you know who to call and when
- Strategic thinker who understands the intersection of reputation, risk, and influence
- Not afraid of complex or fast-paced environments - calm under fire
- Background in campaigns, public affairs, or government is a big plus
- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with senior stakeholders
Nice to Have (but Not Essential) - Experience in healthcare, startups, or regulated industries
- Previous experience managing PR during major announcements or crises
