Station Overseer

Rosewood Station is a 2,770 sq km, 28,000 head cattle breeding and export property in the East Kimberly located on the NT/WA border. Working collaboratively with the Station Manager, as Overseer, you will assist with all aspects of station operations with a strong focus on organising, leading and motivating Stations Hands to reach their full potential.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside and learn with one of Northern Australia's more experienced and well-respected livestock managers and is ideally suited to an energetic couple or family wishing to be involved in breeding high quality cattle. Employment opportunities for a partner may include Station Cook or Domestic roles. Applications are encouraged from Leading Hand/Head Stockman with a minimum of 5 years current experience and are now seeking to take the next step under the supportive guidance of an extremely experienced Station Manager.

-   Work collaboratively with Station Manager across all aspects of station operations
-   Organise, lead and motivate Station Hands 
-   Mustering cattle with horses, motorbikes and helicopter
-   Working large numbers of cattle through yards
-   Maintenance of fencing and water infrastructure 
-   Operation of all station plant and equipment
-   Maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment 
-   Instruct station hands on butchering skills
-   Represent company in professional manner


-  Demonstrated excellent livestock handling and animal husbandry skills 
-  Experience mustering large numbers of cattle with horses, motorbike and helicopter
-  Ability to organise, lead and communicate effectively with staff/contractors
-  Sound knowledge of requirements of NLIS, Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines for cattle and Transport of Livestock Regulations
-  Sound knowledge of the management of natural resources 
-  Highly organised with ability to work autonomously 
-  Strong mechanical and welding skills 
-  Demonstrate effective safe management of staff in remote location
-  Implement and adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines 
-  MC licence or willing to obtain
