Training Advisor - Processing (Gold)

Training Advisor - Processing (Gold)
Southern Cross Region, WA | 8/6 Roster | Bus-In Bus-Out from Perth

An established and growing gold producer is looking for a Processing Training Advisor at its operation Southern Cross region, about 4hs from Perth. The role starts on a rostered basis, with a view to going permanent depending on suitability and terms.

If you're tired of the usual FIFO routine, this is a different way to work. There are no flights, terminals or airport security. You travel to site by company bus on paid time and come home at the end of every swing. Driving in and out is also an option.

The Role
Reporting to the alternate Health, Safety and Training Manager, you'll develop, coordinate and deliver training and competency programs. These make sure Processing personnel have the skills and qualifications to work safely, effectively and in line with site and regulatory requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and delivering training programs, assessments and learning activities for the Processing team
  • Conducting Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments, particularly for fixed plant machinery, and maintaining competency frameworks
  • Running Training Needs Analyses (TNA) and building departmental training plans
  • Coaching supervisors and leaders in workforce capability development
  • Coordinating internal and external training, providers and logistics
  • Keeping training, competency and qualification records accurate in the training management system
  • Reporting on training compliance, competency gaps and workforce capability
  • Reviewing and improving training materials, assessment tools and learning resources
  • Supporting wider health, safety and training initiatives across the operation

What You'll Bring
We know not every candidate will tick every box, so we'll consider transferable skills and experience. However, a sound knowledge of Permit to Work systems, hands-on machinery experience, and experience with the VOC process for typical fixed plant machinery are a must.

Essential:
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • At least 2 years delivering workplace training and competency assessments in a mining environment
  • Experience developing competency-based training programs and conducting VOCs
  • Experience completing TNAs and departmental training plans
  • Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry and Gas Test Atmospheres
  • Current WA manual driver's licence
  • Strong coaching, communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage people at all levels
  • Good organisational skills and confidence with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Highly regarded:
  • Gold processing experience
  • Tickets or training experience in Loader, IT, Telehandler, CN Crane, EWP, Bobcat and Forklift
  • Certificate III in Resource Processing and/or Certificate IV in WHS
  • HR licence and First Aid/CPR
  • Experience with InTuition, Moodle or SAP
  • Knowledge of WA mining statutory training requirements
  • Experience supporting audits and continuous improvement

What's On Offer
  • Competitive remuneration package
  • Attractive bonus schemes, including site, discretionary and business improvement bonuses
  • Novated leasing
  • Bus-in bus-out on company time, or a drive-in drive-out option with free secure parking
  • Your own room in a clean, comfortable camp
  • Fully equipped gym, recreation room and well-balanced, tasty meals
  • High-speed internet throughout camp, so you can stay connected with family and friends
  • A real opportunity to shape a culture of capability, safety and continuous learning

If you take pride in your work, care about getting people home safely, and want a better work-life balance without the airport, we'd love to hear from you.
