Overview 
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a leading global insurance organisation and play a key role in designing, building, and optimising modern data platforms. This role will suit someone who thrives in solving complex data challenges, enjoys collaborating across business and technology teams, and has strong experience with Databricks and the Microsoft ecosystem.


What you'll be doing

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Leveraging Databricks to deliver advanced data processing, analytics, and machine learning capabilities.
• Building and optimising data models to support business intelligence, reporting, and advanced analytics.
• Working with Azure Data Services (Data Lake, Synapse, SQL Database, etc.) to create reliable and secure data platforms.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose data solutions.
• Driving best practices in data governance, quality, and automation.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer (8+ years preferred) with a strong background in cloud-based data platforms.
• Hands-on expertise with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills; knowledge of PySpark highly desirable.
• Experience working with large-scale data pipelines, data warehousing, and data modelling.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
