Are you a tenacious, technically fluent Business Development Manager ready to drive growth in a fast-paced consulting environment? We’re looking for a true hunter, someone who thrives on building relationships from the ground up and crafting tailored solutions that solve real client problems.
About the Role
You’ll be focused on winning new IT consulting and staff augmentation business, primarily within government and enterprise clients, by building and managing your own sales pipeline. You’ll identify opportunities, respond to tenders, and shape solutions that match technical project needs with the right delivery teams.
You’ll work alongside a tight-knit, high-performing Adelaide team with the scale and support of a broader national consultancy behind you. While you’ll have freedom to approach clients across industries, the key focus is on government and defence where trusted, local delivery is essential.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Identifying and closing new business opportunities in IT consulting and project services
- Engaging with clients to understand technical requirements and assemble delivery teams (PMs, BAs, .NET/Java Developers, Architects, etc.)
- Managing the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to solution design to close
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and technical teams to deliver best-fit solutions
- Farming your own accounts and expanding engagement with existing clients
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in outbound business development within IT services, consulting, or staff augmentation (not SaaS/product sales)
- A strong understanding of the tech landscape—Cloud, Data, Software Development, DevOps, Testing, Architecture, etc.
- A consultative, relationship-first sales style with a track record of success in government or large enterprise environments
- An established Adelaide-based client network (ideal)
- Self-starter energy, resilience, and an ability to thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving sales environment
