We are seeking an experienced and confident Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a participant with complex behaviours and mental health needs in Wollongong.
This role is best suited to someone who is calm under pressure, understands behaviour support, and can provide consistent, structured support while maintaining clear professional boundaries. You will work across both in-home and community settings, playing a key role in creating stability, routine and safety.
Responsibilities include: - Providing 1:1 support in both home and community environments
- Implementing behaviour support strategies in line with established plans
- Supporting emotional regulation and responding to behaviours of concern
- Assisting with daily routines, structure and meaningful engagement
- Working independently while staying connected with the broader support team
- Completing accurate documentation, including progress notes and incident reports
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A valid P2 or Open driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours and mental health needs
- Strong understanding of behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Confidence working independently in high-complexity environments
- A calm, resilient and professional approach
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Reliability and consistency to support an ongoing roster
