Support Worker

Being a Support Worker is an opportunity to change someone’s life.

In this role, you will support participants in a SIL environment with complex care needs to go about their daily lives with consistency, dignity and support. You will work as part of a team to provide person-centred care that helps participants feel safe, supported, and engaged in their home and community.

Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting participants with activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene and mealtime assistance
  • Providing high-quality, consistent support in line with individual care plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Assisting with mobility and manual handling, including the use of hoists and other equipment where required
  • Supporting participants with complex care needs, including PEG feeding, medication assistance and other high-intensity supports (where trained)
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed progress notes, incident reports and documentation
  • Supporting participants to engage in meaningful activities at home and in the community
  • Building positive, respectful relationships with participants, families and the wider care team

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A valid P2 or Open driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
  • Experience in complex care or high-intensity support work
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Professionalism, reliability, patience and resilience when supporting participants with complex needs
  • Availability for a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons and sleepovers
